Reverse Engineering

Thanks to world-class equipment and long-term experience, we can digitally copy and repair the original object and convert the resulting measurements to the exact form the customer wants. Reverse engineering is the desire to recreate the original intent of the designer.

Reverse engineering

We are customer-oriented and do our utmost to deliver the most cost-effective tasks.

Reverse Engineering is a service where we are capturing the design intent of a 3D scanned part. There are many different forms of reverse-engineering it can be as simple as a single non-functional part, or it can be as hard as a large assembly of parts with unknown function. In most cases where we are working on a functional part, communication with our client is critical. It’s not possible to do the job properly without understanding precisely what the component we are given does. In most cases where the client has an engineering team of their own, it’s wise to supply a rough model without any added tolerancing or specifications. We will always suggest the most cost-efficient way for our client to complete the task.

Output formats of reverse engineering

3D reverse engineering from scan data is the fastest and most accurate method of creating a CAD model of existing objects. Prototype modifications have never been so simple!

  • Point cloud – PTX, PTS, XYZ
  • Polygon models – STL, PLY, OBJ, VRML
  • Surface models – IGES, STEP, X_B, X_T
  • CAD models and assemblies – IGES, STEP, Parasolid, Solidworks
  • Photorealistic renders
  • Drawings
  • Animations
